My name is Rick and I’m systems admin and techie with a background in cybersecurity and education.

I shied away from education early on, but it did open up a lot of questions and point-of-views that help me communicate and teach on a team. (Ex. Even if I’m 100% correct, but they’re not ‘getting it’ – maybe i can try a new approach instead of just leaving them behind).

When it comes to my tech career, I have a huge interest in cybersecurity but have always used my skills to admin and secure systems. Cybersecurity involves a lot of understanding technical aspects and making computers do things they don’t normally do.

I currently use those skills to help integrate third-party applications (security, monitoring, automation, etc) where they typically aren’t offered and to deep-dive technical issues ahead or even outside of vendor support.
